The Xinyang City Museum provides not only interesting artifacts to its visitors, but also culturally important ones. Behind the scenes is where the most and fascinating objects lie however. A number of Shang dynasty paintings, dating to over 3,500 years old, are housed at the museum. These paintings are not only significant in representing ancient Chinese culture, but also show the pride and determination of Chinese to preserve all aspects of their culture. Perhaps the most intriguing item, however, is one of the oldest or even the oldest in the world. Wine held in a ceramic container is rumored to be the oldest wine in the world. Although many countries, including the United States, have tried to buy a single drop of wine, the museum has withheld this privileged. Estimates on a single drop of wine were rising to over 10 million dollars.
